Happy New Year!
Important Dates:
January 9th - Elisa is having her very first immunotherapy treatment. I know this probably sounds weird, but honestly Elisa and I haven't really talked about the upcoming therapy. I know she'd rather not have to do ANY therapy, but when we found out this is the method of attack to reduce the cancer from a MEDICAL perspective, we liked the sound of that much better than some of the other treatments. Notice, I put the emphasis on the word medical. Our first line of defense is prayer. We have received so many prayers and great support. The image for this blog for example is from the Mesa Arizona area. We've received other supportive prayer cards, and Mass intention. For all those sending us these prayer/Mass cards, Thank you! In regards to the prayer card shown, I posted this image for a few reasons:
1) Our family was once parishioners of Christ the King, (we were married there, and Ryan and Kyle were baptized there)
2) The prayer card is from the Saint Peregrine Cancer Shrine which opened in 2009, so our family was able to see the addition to the Christ the King church before we moved
3) My brother, Rob had the card imaged processed for Elisa
4) We still have friends from our time as part of the parish - and thought this was a great reminder of our times there
If you would like more information regarding the shrine, please visit http://cancershrine.com/
January 22 - As I mentioned in a previous post, Elisa is having another biopsy to see what's going on in her nasal passage and the lymph node close to it. Prayer Warriors - keep the prayers coming for this.
I know I must sound like a broken record, but I can't say how amazed we are by the prayers, support, and financial donations! We're above the 10K mark! Plus we have some donations which I haven't processed just yet, which I ask those individuals to be patient with me. I will get those processed soon. We're already using some of the donations, and have plans to help Elisa with getting around the house (inside and outside) a bit easier.
Many blessings from our family to you and yours...
Anthony
